Summer Horsemanship Camps

Camp Activities

Children will experience the joys of riding and caring for a horse. Along with daily riding sessions the campers will spend most of their time learning how to handle and care for these large lovable creatures.


Daily Activities include but are not limited to:

  • Riding sessions
  • General horse care including proper grooming, feeding and health care
  • Anatomy and terminology associated with horses
  • Equipment and tack
  • Horse handling and leading
  • Scrapbook

 

To ensure everyone has a great time and is safe several levels of camp are offered.

Beginner, Beginner/Intermediate and Intermediate/Advanced 4-H/Equestrian Team Rider Camp.


Who is a Beginner? Ages 7 -16: Little to no riding or hands-on experience.  The beginner camper could have attended camps in the past but has not been in a regular riding lesson program. 


Who is Beginner/Intermediate?

Ages 7 - 18: Two or more years of beginner camp experience and/or has been riding in a regular lesson program. 


Intermediate/Advanced 4-H/Equestrian Team Rider Camp is closed to current TET riders only.

  • Welcome to our 2026 Camp Season. Our horsemanship camps teach campers about the horse from the ground up and safety is our first priority. Our camps are instructed in an entirely hands-on format allowing our campers to learn to appreciate all different aspects of the horse.  Our instructors are experienced horsemen with years of horse experience and knowledge. We have a ratio of 5 campers per instructor/counselor. In addition we require all campers to wear a certified safety helmet while riding and driving. These helmets are provided. Along with qualified instructors, the equine staff is composed of seasoned veterans that were selected because of their pleasant and willing attitudes. These kind animals exhibit endless patience as many campers take their first riding lessons.

 Times: 9:00 - 3:00 p.m.

Cost $500.00 per camper, per weekly session. 

Please bring a sack lunch Monday - Thursday.

Pizza will be provided on Friday.
